Eight Sensational Watches Featured in or Made Because of Movies

Even the film’s most legendary characters rely on special timepieces to help emphasize their unique personalities

We all know that the discount replica watch you wear on your wrist can reflect your personality, preferences, and more. The same is true when actors play roles on the big screen: the right watch tells the right story. Over the years, we’ve seen many incredible timepieces worn by celebrities in movies. There are even some icons. For example, when Paul Newman was filming Victory in 1969, he wore the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona given to him by his wife, Joanne Woodward. It was an instant hit, and the watch model he has since worn is often referred to as the Paul Newman Daytona. Likewise, Steve McQueen achieved global success when he wore a TAG Heuer Monaco watch in the 1970 film Le Mans, and in almost every James Bond movie, a watch is a must, no matter who plays 007.

Today, the business is more commercialized, with brands partnering with prop masters to place their watches in the right movies. Relationships have also formed between watch brands and movie studios such as Universal, Marvel, Disney, etc. We’ve seen a flurry of activity in this regard over the past few months. Here, we take a look at recent movies and watches that have starred, as well as watches inspired by the movies or the characters they represent.
