Introduction to Greubel Forsey Balances

Art in its purest form… While Greubel Forsey was also present at SIHH with the innovative Grand Sonnerie, they also presented a new watch at Baselworld 2017. That’s a lot for a small super high-end company like Greubel Forsey! With their latest creation, the Greubel Forsey Balance, they elevate the fundamentals of watchmaking in its purest form, with stunning finishes. No double or quad tourbillons this time, no fancy complications, just pure expressions of classic movements, adorned (literally) in the best way you can imagine.

Unlike other creations from the brand, the Greubel Forsey Balancier (Balance Wheel in French) has no complications other than a power reserve indicator. Instead, it focuses on the essentials, reinterpreted using Greubel Forsey’s radical and creative approach. The result is art in its purest form. As its name suggests, the Balancier celebrates the beating heart of the watch. The majestic large balance wheel is located on the dial side under the exquisite bridges, and can be seen at a glance. The sight of its vibrations on the levers and escape wheels is mesmerizing.

The balance is entirely developed and manufactured in the Greubel Forsey workshop. 12.60 mm in diameter with 6 gold adjustment screws designed for excellent aerodynamic qualities. It runs at 21’600 vibrations per hour and features Philips terminal curves and Geneva style studs. Stop balance allows for precise adjustments.

While its exterior looks relatively simple, one thing we can be sure of when looking closely at the new “Balancier” is that we are dealing with Greubel Forsey fanatics whose watchmakers and craftsmen have gold hands . The finish of the movement is truly stunning, with a rare level of craftsmanship. Discount fashion watches

The exquisite brilliance of the balance bridge is the result of meticulous, expert handwork. The different surfaces (whether round or flat) as well as the screws are polished for a uniform shine without the slightest imperfection. Every angle is chamfered to perfection. Grooves are handled in the same way.

The large nickel-silver bridges are brushed and speckled, typical of Greubel Forsey. They have a nickel palladium finish. The way their contours are chamfered is very delicate.

The arrow-shaped hands are carefully polished and heat-blued. On the gold hour ring that forms the movement, the logo is offset symmetrically from the balance wheel at 2 o’clock. The power reserve indication (72 hours) is displayed by a gold-plated sector counter, while the small seconds is displayed by a gold-plated counter ring.

On the back of the watch, text is engraved in bas-relief on the plate – another Greubel Forsey signature feature and a nice touch indeed! The rhinestones holding two stones are very gorgeous. Popular wholesale watches

As is often seen with Greubel Forsey, the case is asymmetrical, which provides additional space for accommodating large balances. A window is integrated into the case, allowing additional light to reach the balance wheel. It has a satin finish and has polished bezel and lugs. The contours of the case and the curves of the lugs are very harmonious.

The Greubel Forsey Balancier comes on a black hand-stitched alligator strap with a white gold pin buckle.
