Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono and Alpine Eagle Frozen

Those who know sports watches should already be familiar with Alpine Eagle. It was launched in 2019 and is the direct successor to the handsome Chopard St. Moritz sports watch series, which debuted in 1980.

Here, we focus on two models; 44mm Chrono XL and 41mm Alpine Eagle Frozen. The Alpine Eagle series is Karl-Fritz Scheufele’s 21st century interpretation of the St Moritz series. Karl-Fritz is the youngest member of Chopard’s Scheufele family.

Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chronograph
This high-precision chronometer uses a bi-material case made of ethical gold and ceramic titanium; and, for modern sports watches, the calfskin strap is unusual, of course it can also be paired with an integrated titanium watch belt.

Undoubtedly, you are familiar with titanium, a lightweight metal, but ceramic titanium goes a step further, adding a strong scratch-resistant ceramic layer to its surface to give titanium a more glossy appearance and smooth finish. Chopard praised the use of ceramic titanium and gold as the first in the watchmaking industry.

As for the dark dial, this is also for good reason. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele wanted this dark hue as a tribute to the deep black of the mountain night. Night lighting destroys the natural darkness of the mountains and affects the surrounding animal species.

The watch retains its familiar triple composite dial configuration. The dial is designed to imitate the iris of an eagle and provides hours, minutes, small seconds, date, flyback chronograph and a 30-minute sub-dial. The date window is at 4:30. The watch is equipped with the COSC-certified Chopard 03.05-C column wheel flyback chronograph movement with a power reserve of 60 hours. Shopping fake watch

Chopard Alpine Eagle Frozen
Count on ice cubes with Alpine Eagle Frozen, a lot of ice cubes. This is the first watch in the Alpine Eagle series to be fully studded with gems. Alpine Eagle’s case, bezel and one-piece bracelet are forged from ethical 18-carat white gold, all set with diamonds, of which 765 have a total weight of 8.28 carats. The production of each timepiece requires no less than 20 hours of meticulous work to cover the watch with ice.

Even the watch bezel (a tribute to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak series and its eight index screws before the series in the 1970s) is decorated with baguette-cut gemstones or full diamond setting options.

This watch has only an hour function, equipped with 148 components Chopard 09.01-C movement, power reserve of 42 hours.

Just as the dark dial of the XL Chrono makes sense, so does the Alpine Eagle Frozen. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele described it like this; “Alpine Eagle Frozen is directly inspired by alpine glaciers and their brilliant reflections of the sun. Every diamond used on this timepiece shines like snowflakes on the top of a mountain.”

Chopard copy uses ethical gold in the production of its Alpine Eagle watches. This is an important additional detail. The source of a large amount of gold is not ethical, and major gold buyers around the world are turning, not eagle-eyed, but turning a blind eye to it. In many third world countries, illegally purchased gold is mined from the land. It pollutes rivers with large amounts of mercury and affects fish populations that are later eaten by humans. The source of illegal gold is always organized crime, and they hope to launder millions of dollars of poison money. Buyers of illegally procuring gold, whether intentionally or unintentionally, are usually well-respected figures in the watch and jewelry manufacturing industry. When you want to buy a watch that contains gold, please ask whether its source is ethical.
