Richard Mille’s RM 07-01 series is very feminine, expanding the color ceramic series, three new color ceramic watches, multi-material guilloche dials and the most advanced mechanical movement.
Three models-RM 07-01 Pastel Blue, RM 07-01 Pastel Pink and RM 07-01 Pastel Lavender-will all be produced in limited quantities.
The segmented central dial is assembled from ceramic inserts, geometrically patterned rubber and (first adopted by Richard Mille) hand-made guilloche pattern. This is a traditional decorative technique that includes engraving on the dial using a manual lathe pattern.
As you would expect from a disruptive company like luxury Richard Mille, the RM 07-01 color ceramic model uses this centuries-old technology and applies it in a creative way.
The rhodium-plated red gold dial element in the center of each RM 07-01 is a larger pattern whose lines are subtly aligned with the floating hour markers on the micro-blasted titanium flange. Cécile Guenat, Creative and Development Director of Richard Mille, explained the three color variations-TZP pink ceramic with sky blue lilac rubber strap, TZP lavender ceramic with coral orange rubber strap and TZP blue ceramic with olive rubber strap -Inspired by Art Deco buildings that can be seen in Miami.
Due to its zirconia composition and sintering manufacturing process, TZP ceramics are lightweight, hypoallergenic, durable and almost scratch-resistant.
RM 07-01 is the smallest timepiece in the ladies series (45.66 mm x 31.40 mm x 11.85 mm). Its beating heart is the internal CRMA2 movement, 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) hollow automatic movement for 50 hours (± 10%) power reserve, equipped with an 18-carat 5N red gold variable geometric oscillating weight, which can be automatically wound according to the wearer’s activity level.
