Jacob & Co. luxury have always designed their timepieces to showcase the intricate inner workings of their movements. The limited edition Astornomia Maestro Worldtime is no exception. The timepiece is massive, 50mm wide and 26mm thick, designed as a cylindrical sapphire case with a gold structured chassis. The case itself is a visual masterpiece, with real focus on the movement and dial image. While one might think that the proportions make it very large, the case is actually quite simple and features clean vertical sides and sharply sloped, curved skeleton lugs. In order to maintain a simple but highly visible look, this timepiece does not have a traditional crown.
This beauty’s skeletonized dial is front and center on top of the center stack, making it easier to read. The style is a perfect mix of classic and futuristic, contrasting the traditional blued and passivated alpha hands with engraved chemin-de-fer minute markers, engraved with Arabic numerals, on block-applied blued indices Above, an intricate enamelled globe is brought to life as the subject to emphasize the domed form of the design. The brand uses elements in its designs to make an iconic statement, such as Jacob-cut 1-carat spherical diamonds on the rotating shaft, a three-axis tourbillon and a stylized cage to incorporate the Jacob & Co. logo in rose gold.
The brand claims that these two elements are in perfect balance to each other, opposite each other. While the points are certainly refined, the real focus is the new Orbital World Timer complication. This oversized painted rose gold globe is spectacular as it rotates on its axis every 24 hours.
The brand has paired this new complication with a very detailed hand-painted model of the German orbiting astronaut in silver. In addition to rotating around the dial, this very artistic figure also rotates on its own axis every 90 seconds to provide a more dynamic movement. To complete this stunning scene, a hand-painted aventurine disc sits atop the movement bridges to depict the Milky Way, with multiple ornate planets atop gleaming black black drops. It’s perfect. best fake watches
