French motorsport manufacturer BRM Chronographes has just announced an exclusive partnership with double world champion Formula E team DS Teesheetah. It launched two new models in the same color as the single-seater model entering the 2021 season, two limited editions of 21 pieces each.
BRM Chronograph has become the Official Watchmaking and Timing Partner of the 2021 FIA Formula E World Championship, which kicks off on February 26 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. For the record, the French manufacturer has been associated with Corvette Racing (read here) in endurance.
A partnership that makes the owners of both brands happy. The agreement is a continuation of a partnership signed with French premium automaker DS Auto (read here), for which the company designed the DS 7 Crossback dashboard clock.
The manufacturer has developed a series of exclusive watches in team colours that will be worn by two of its drivers, Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne, Formula E double winner and Antonio Felix Da Costa.
The first two watches will be produced in a limited run of 21 pieces, each based on the most iconic BRM watches: the V12-44 chronograph and the three-hand V6-44. Their black dials are enhanced by a gold strap with red edges and gold numerals, making them instantly distinctive. It is adorned with four laurel wreaths, reminiscent of the team’s two manufacturer titles and JY Vergne’s two pilot titles. The crown is engraved with the team logo.
They also incorporate design elements cherished by the famous “Spirit of Racing” BRM, a 44mm piston-shaped case, black and gold PVD-treated stainless steel, a lightweight stainless steel removable horn and a perforated leather strap. Enhanced with double stitching Wire. Bright white hands ensure perfect readability of the time. If the chronograph has three counters (hours and minutes for the chronograph, small seconds), the “3 hands” provides three openings on the “suspension” that protects the movement from shocks and vibrations.
Both watches are powered by reliable and proven automatic Swiss movements that BRM has chosen over the years: these are the ETA 2824 movement for the 3-hand and the ETA 7753 movement for the chronograph. They are visible through the back of the sapphire case.
Last but not least, BRM offers two paracord bracelets in black or red in their BRM Luxury accessories range in the shape of a brake disc in the colour DS Teecheetah. They are machined from black PVD titanium and the sapphire is projected with UV ink.
