Bremont ALT1-ZT

This year, British luxury watch maker Bremont has expanded its Z collection with the launch of the ALT1-ZT.

Part of the launch collection back in 2007, the ALT1-Z has become an iconic Bremont timepiece over the years. This is a model designed for pilots and world travelers with direct aviation-inspired design cues such as an artificial horizon indicator. The “Z” stands for Zulu time, and the wearer can display both the local time and the official world time standard.

Unsurprisingly, the Z has proven popular among the military squadrons working with Bremont, an important and growing part of Bremont’s business, and further feedback from the department. This year Bremont introduced a new version in the form of ALT1-ZT.

This is the first time the design has been developed since the Z series was introduced in 2007. It has a cleaner dial with newly applied SuperLumiNova® index markers on the dial, and the 24-hour function has been moved to the bezel for improved clarity. More detailing has been done around the stepped sub-dial with micro-lines to give the dial more depth.

Functionally, the ALT1-ZT has the same functionality as the introduction of the Roto-Click® bidirectional inner rotating bezel. The GMT hand combined with the chronograph function measures seconds, minutes and hours, making this watch ideal for travel. For greater clarity, the Bremont uses the same hand design as the MB series, including a second time zone marker that is very effective on the MBIII. This is the first time in this range to see black hands with an all-white SuperLumiNova®.

Like most of the Core Collection, the ALT1-ZT features a stainless steel case with a hardness of up to 2000 Vickers, seven times that of a regular stainless steel case. The convex sapphire crystal is equally hard and has nine anti-reflective coatings on both sides of the glass for improved readability. From the hand-engraved and engraved winding rotor in the sapphire crystal case to the meticulous machining of the three-part Trip-Tick® case, everything exemplifies the high standard of finishing and attention to detail that takes a considerable amount of time time and skills to apply.
