Graham’s Chronofighter Vintage 2018 series launches new colors

A team of Chronofighters is equipped with military uniform color, which strengthens the strong retro charm of this series.

Graham has built a strong brand image around its Chronofighter, a watch series designed to evoke the vibe of vintage pilot watches. Since its launch in 2001, Chronofighter has revisited time and time again, amplifying its retro vibe with a new watch squadron. The Chronofighter Vintage trilogy watch uses a color that is indelible with military aircraft, returning to the 1940s nostalgic.

The multiple faces of CHRONOFIGHTER
Graham’s Chronofighter is far ahead of the current fashion of retro-style watches and discovered the market niche for retro watches a few years ago. Do you remember the Graham Chronofighter 1695 in 2012? Although it was not called a vintage watch at the time, all the components were already in place to take full advantage of the unique structure of the case to realize its full retro potential. Inspired by old military stopwatches, Chronofighter is Graham’s trump card and reinterpreted in many forms: decorated with posters inspired by aviation nose art, XXL 47 mm format, GMT version, ultra-high Light carbon fiber case and even in models with pulsometer scale…

The latest trilogy uses a 44mm steel case and iconic chronograph trigger, which looks nothing wrong in the faded black and white photos of US Air Force pilots. Imagine a photo of a pilot from this period. He is wearing a fleece-lined bomber jacket, a helmet with goggles, and a large Chronofighter Vintage watch on his wrist… I want to know how many of us can spot the anachronism?

Classical
The 44 mm steel case is a classic Chronofighter case, with its concave bezel and chronograph lever positioned uniquely on the left side of the case. With its steampunk aesthetic, the onion crown, mushroom reset button and the delicate lever device used to start and stop the chronograph proves this, and people tend to think of these appliances as just a design quirk. In fact, the position on the left is very practical, instinctive and ultimately more accurate. men watches cheap

Like the stopwatch used by World War II pilots, it is basically a pocket watch strapped to a jacket designed to be activated with the thumb. This system allows you to manipulate the lever with your right thumb instead of having to fiddle with your index finger to locate the right side of the pusher box. This also means that when you trigger the lever with your thumb, you can hold the case firmly with the rest of your right hand. Another advantage of the left-hand sling is that you can bend your wrist without being pierced and avoid tearing the shirt cuff. Like many large watches, the compact design features can play an important role. In this case, the ergonomic tapered lugs ensure a close fit with the wrist.

The novelty of the Chronofighter Vintage trilogy lies in its pure aesthetic design. Its dial adopts khaki, silver and black frosted dial. The color is based on the theme of military aviation, and the metal material looks very handsome. The layout is exactly the same as the Chronofighter Nose Art watch, with two chronographs on the dial-minutes and seconds-with a snail as the background. Khaki and black models are equipped with matching counters, while the silver models use black snail-shaped counters to improve legibility. The golden hour markers and the number 12, as well as the cathedral-style hands with white Super-LumiNova® luminous treatment, highlight the vintage personality of the skeleton watches.

Automatic chronograph movement
Equipped with the G1747 automatic chronograph movement based on the reliable Valjoux 7750, the movement can be seen through the back cover, and provides a 48-hour power reserve and 100-meter water resistance. The reliable cam lever chronograph vibrates 28,800 times per hour and has been slightly modified to match the specific chronograph buttons of this Graham watch.
