In Crazed Fashion — Franck Muller Vanguard

Franck Muller’s iconic Crazy Hours complication finds a new home in the Asian version of the sporty Franck Muller Vanguard Crazy Hours

Since its release in 1992, Franck Muller Cintrée Curvex has become the iconic shape of this Geneva-based manufacturer with its exquisite curved case and unique silhouette. The silhouette continues to express the brand’s unique identity and expertise in watch case manufacturing. With the popular trend of sports watches in the past decade, Franck Muller followed the release of the Vanguard series and the recent release of the Asian version of Franck Muller Vanguard Crazy Hours.

Inspired by the Cintrée Curvex, the Asian version of Vanguard Crazy Hours takes a step towards movement in a whimsical fashion. Earlier this year, at Franck Muller’s WPHH watchmaking exhibition, the Crazy Hours complication appeared for the first time in the Vanguard case, despite the use of stainless steel.

However, the Asian version of Vanguard Crazy Hours uses a more sporty lightweight black carbon case, which is consistent with most luxury watchmakers’ use of high-tech case materials. This predominantly black watch uses shiny pop colors with red, yellow or orange applied hour markers in Franck Muller’s unique font. Echoing the gorgeous numbers are the inserts on the side of the case, the embossed crown and the stitching of the alligator leather strap.

Inside the case is one of Franck Muller’s most famous complications, Crazy Hours, which is a time-jumping module. For those who are not familiar with complex functions, the placement of the hour index is deliberate, not random. Over time, the hour hand will jump to the next correct hour index. After every 60 minutes, the hour hand will jump to the next correct number, no matter where it is, hence the nickname Crazy Hour. At the same time, the minute and second hands operate in a traditional 60-minute cycle.

Powering the mechanism is the patented automatic internal FM 2800 movement with a 42-hour power reserve. Close observation will reveal the clever tricks behind Crazy Time. swiss luxury watches

Every hour it jumps, the hour hand jumps forward five positions, moving continuously. The movement is decorated with Côtes de Genève and brushed splints and oscillating weights. Both sides of the bottom plate are decorated with round grain patterns. The splints are polished with diamonds and engraved with 24k gold finishes.

The exclusive Franck Muller Vanguard Crazy Hours Asian edition faithfully embodies Franck Muller’s boldness and publicity.
