Jacob & Co.
Fire all cylinders
The new Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron pushed everything away.
Jacob & Co. began to establish a partnership with Bugatti, a luxury high-performance automaker, last year, but 2020 is the first brand new timepiece launched by Jacob & Co. The Bugatti in the Epic X Chronograph and the twin-turbo passion Bugatti are impressive works to kick off the proclaimed year, but Jacob and the company Bugatti Kairon-just unveiled today-are fully operational at different levels .
You know, when the tourbillon is considered a secondary function, the sleeve of the timepiece is amazing. Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron launched a brand new automaton to celebrate the automaker’s boldest creation, which occupies the second half of the entire cheap men watch.
There are three crowns on the bottom of the case. After pressing, the crown on the right will lead to the automaton and ignite the action!
Below the flying tourbillon, below the hour and minute hands (which are temporarily ignored when the automaton performs its work) are located on a small W16 engine made of integrated sapphire crystal. Within its transparent range, there are 16 tiny articulated pistons pumping up and down and connected to the same tiny crankshaft. On the right side of the engine block, two “turbocharger” intake fans rotate, imitating the intake mechanism on an actual supercar.
The micromechanical range of high-performance timepieces has never been so perfect as to reflect the original power of high-performance cars.
The concept of mirroring not only supports the structure of the movement, but also transforms the relationship between the driver and the car into the relationship between the wearer and the watch. When you sit in the driver’s seat of a well-designed car, the combination of its power source and wheels provides you with forward momentum. When you wind and wear your watch, you are the one who powers the internal wheels.
When physically mirroring and miniaturizing the Bugatti Chiron’s engine, Jacob & Co. ingeniously made other mechanical and aesthetic reversals throughout the movement, all of which cited the basic ” “Reflect instead of copy” concept.
Although a very small crankshaft (which is a highly complex geometry machined from a single steel part) drives the piston in a Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron watch, it is the opposite in actual internal combustion engines. The sequence of power transmission in an automatic machine is from its separate barrel to the crankshaft to the piston. In an actual internal combustion engine, the ignited fuel forces the piston to move within its cylinder, which in turn rotates the crankshaft. super-watcheswholesale.com
Compared with the actual turbocharger delivering compressed air to the cylinder to increase engine power, the simulated “turbocharger” in Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron is actually a cleverly disguised method of adjusting the speed of the cylinder. The fins of the turbine are the only components visible in the multi-component mechanism, which controls the torque release in the separate barrel of the automaton. Those familiar with the technical history of the minute repeater will immediately recognize the hidden components. They include special escapement wheels and anchors. Before the invention of modern centrifugal regulators, they were used to adjust the timing speed of the minute repeater.
Car enthusiasts often claim that the car engine makes a roar, which is a mechanical expression of Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron using the echo mechanism in its small engine block.
The entire movement is located on top of a set of carefully adjusted shock absorber coils, thereby minimizing the impact of bumps on the watch (or G-force generated by the high epinephrine in the Bugatti supercar). Since the movement is basically suspended in the case with limited mobility, a solution must be found to tighten the chronograph barrel (separate from the automatic barrel). In most timepieces, the barrel crown is connected to a rigid rod that engages the barrel barrel. At this time, the barrel (installed in the movement) is movable, but the winding crown (the leftmost crown) is in a fixed position on the case. If the movement of the movement is too large, the rigid winding handle may be deformed or even broken.
Therefore, the engineers behind the movement have created a hinged winding stem that can effectively engage the barrel, while accommodating any changes in the movement of the movement within the case. The 60-hour power reserve is displayed on the dial, which draws on the aesthetic effect of the car’s instrument panel indicator (the inverted “empty-full” direction finally reflects the mirror concept of the watch).
Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron uses a black titanium case to echo the smooth lines of its car inspiration. The central crown winds both the chronograph and automatic movements, depending on whether it is wound clockwise or counterclockwise. With this new high-octane timepiece, the partnership between Jacob & Co. and Bugatti will operate on all cylinders.
