Audemars Piguet fake Supersonnerie: Three New Dials for Minute Repeaters
Audemars Piguet has unveiled three new “Supersonnerie” minute-repeater timepieces: one in rose gold with a brown “Grande Tapisserie” dial, one in titanium with a smoked green dial, and one in white gold with a smoked sapphire dial.
Three Chiming Watches, Three Distinct Dial Treatments
On Monday, November 2, 2026, Audemars Piguet launched three new Supersonnerie minute-repeater watches. Two are 42mm Royal Oak models—one crafted in titanium and the other in 18K rose gold—while the third is a new 41mm Code 11.59 model in 18K white gold.
All three timepieces are powered by the manual-winding Calibre 2953—the brand’s signature Supersonnerie movement—meaning they share the same mechanical architecture. They differ, however, in their dial designs: one features a brown “Grande Tapisserie” pattern, another a smoked green sunburst finish, and the third a smoked sapphire crystal dial that reveals the movement in action.
These chiming watches were released alongside two 38mm Code 11.59 models featuring natural stone dials, which are covered in a separate article. This piece focuses on how the watchmaker—renowned for its mastery of sound—has chosen to present its chiming timepieces from a visual perspective.
The Dials
The rose gold Royal Oak (reference 26591OR.OO.1252OR.01) features the most traditional dial design. It showcases the “Grande Tapisserie”—the iconic guilloché pattern of the Royal Oak collection—consisting of a grid of raised, square-shaped cells separated by fine grooves, which catch and play with the light. Against the backdrop of a rose gold case and bracelet, the brown dial exudes a warm, soft tone rather than creating a sharp, high-contrast effect.
Audemars Piguet has equipped this timepiece with 18K rose gold hands and hour markers—all filled with luminescent material—complemented by a brown inner bezel. In official close-up imagery, the small seconds sub-dial at the six o’clock position appears as a smooth, deep-brown disc framed by a gold outer ring. This element subtly breaks up the dial’s otherwise uniform pattern, lending a cleaner, more refined look to the intricate “Tapisserie” grid design.
The titanium Royal Oak (reference 26591TI.OO.1252TI.08) adopts a more contemporary aesthetic. Its dial features a smoked green finish with a sunburst motif; the color is brightest at the center and deepens toward the edges, creating a dynamic, shifting green hue as the wrist moves. The small seconds sub-dial at six o’clock matches the dial’s color, ensuring a seamless, cohesive gradient. Audemars Piguet has opted for rhodium-plated 18K rose gold hour markers and 18K white gold hands—both treated with luminescent material—set against a polished inner bezel. This lighter-toned bezel provides a striking contrast to the green dial while harmonizing with the gray tones of the titanium.
The Code 11.59 timepiece (reference 26395BC.OO.D009CR.01) eschews an opaque dial entirely. Beneath a smoked gray sapphire dial lies the Calibre 2953, which remains clearly visible against the dark backdrop. The brand describes this as an openworked presentation that reveals the watch’s acoustic and mechanical architecture. 18K white gold baton-style hands and a snailed, silver-gray inner bezel complete the design, while a silver ring defines the small seconds sub-dial, providing a clear reference point for the movement.
Achieving the right tone for a smoked sapphire dial requires a precise balance. If the color is too dark, the texture of the movement disappears; if it is too light, the dial loses its sense of depth. The hue in the official images strikes the perfect balance—clearly revealing the movement’s bridges and gears while providing a distinct backdrop for the polished hands.
Taken together, these three dials showcase three distinct decorative styles: guilloché patterning, gradient coloration, and transparency.
Context
“Supersonnerie” is Audemars Piguet’s innovative take on the acoustics of minute repeaters. Developed over several years in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and first introduced in the Royal Oak Concept RD#1 research watch, it features gongs mounted on a dedicated soundboard. The case architecture is also meticulously engineered to transmit sound with greater clarity than traditional minute repeaters. discount fake watches
Calibre 2953 is a manual-winding movement measuring 30 mm in diameter and 6 mm in thickness. It comprises 362 components and 32 jewels, operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), and offers a 72-hour power reserve. It powers the hours, minutes, small seconds, and the minute repeater complication.
The two Royal Oak models measure 42 mm x 14 mm and are fitted with integrated bracelets—crafted from the same metal as the case—featuring an Audemars Piguet folding clasp. The Code 11.59 model measures 41 mm x 13.6 mm; it comes on a grey alligator strap with an 18K white gold Audemars Piguet folding clasp, with a grey textured rubber strap also available upon request. All three timepieces are water-resistant to 20 meters.
A Brilliant Perspective
While the watch’s chime is the first thing you hear, the time itself is still read via the dial. These three timepieces demonstrate how different dial materials can transform the character of the very same movement: textures evoke warmth, colors infuse a sense of dynamism, and sapphire reveals the intricate workings of the movement itself.
This range of choices lies at the heart of Splendore Unique’s dial design philosophy.
