Audemars Piguet Automatic Chronograph New Gold and Ceramic Code 11.59

Use materials to enhance the architectural design of the Code 11.59 series.

Although only unveiled 2 years ago, Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59 has been iteratively presented many times, whether it is a complex movement, a high-end dial, a two-tone case or a bold color. Today, as part of the 2021 series, Audemars Piguet released a new version that showcases the true potential of this watch, a new combination of materials that reveals the beauty and complexity of the case. This is the new Gold & Ceramic Code 11.59 for Audemars Piguet’s automatic chronograph.

It does take some time to fully understand the idea of AP with the Code 11.59 collection. The first model, mainly time and date and self-winding chronograph, may be a bit too conservative and shy. But a year later, the brand reacted and brought some boldness to the series, bringing with it a two-tone case and a series of brightly colored smoky dials. When the complexity of this watch and the pure nature of its architectural case began to show the world. This year, Audemars Piguet received new material for Code 11.59, and by comparison, the brand managed to provide the most beautiful version of this watch so far-at least, in our book.

In the first version, all elements of the case are made of white or rose gold, and this complexity is somehow lost. Today, the addition of the black ceramic middle case has only brought attention to some elements of the design, namely, the ultra-thin bezel with hollow lug modules, the complex button design and the exquisite finishing details, alternating between the two Appear. Brushed surface and polished accents.

Although made of black ceramic, the middle case retains its architectural style and stunning AP octagonal shape, with brushed and polished decorations. This black middle case makes the watch visually lighter and more atmospheric, somehow completely hollowed out and suspended in the air. The gold and ceramic version of the Audemars Piguet Automatic Chronograph Code 11.59 uses a casual textile strap, again adding more features to the overall design. It has both the rose gold style introduced here and the platinum style.

Another new element in this gold/ceramic version is the dial. The base is gray with a smoky/gradient effect, but due to the vertically brushed surface and cooler gray tones, this dial is unique to this version-it is different from the one used in this version. All elements of the dial are made of gold and are used for the hands, application marks and the ring that forms the sub-counter. The same applies to the ultra-detailed Audemars Piguet logo at 12 o’clock.

The mechanical aspect has not changed, because these ceramic/gold versions of Code 11.59 still rely on the recently launched internal self-winding and integrated flyback chronograph type 4401-a type with column wheel, unique reset mechanism and powerful energy storage Modern movement. It is beautifully decorated, visible through the sapphire crystal.
