U-Boat’s old days… U-Boat watches have a long history in the history of watchmaking and can be easily applied to the story of feature films. In 2000, Italo Fontana met the watch design of his grandfather Ilvo Fontana. In 1942, he was commissioned by the Italian Navy to create a high-performance, high-quality precision manual chronograph for Italian military seafarers to wear.

However, Ilvo Fontana’s original 1942 design did not see the daylight for more than half a century. After discovering the grandfather’s design in 2000, the young Fontana spent 7 years working on the U-Boat watch, using the precise technical specifications of the grandfather’s blueprint to combine modern technology and advanced state-of-the-art materials, including carbon fiber, ceramics, Tungsten and titanium and high-grade stainless steel, bronze and gold.

U-Boat cheap watches are produced in the Tuscany region of central Italy. They debuted in the late 2000s and have remained among the most popular Italian watch brands today. The brand is also characterized by its still “Made in Italy”.
