The limited edition Monaco timepiece is designed for the Monaco Historical Grand Prix.
TAG Heuer replica was appointed as the official sponsor and timekeeper of the Monaco Historical Grand Prix. To celebrate this collaboration, the brand launched the Monaco Grand Prix Monaco History Limited Edition as a tribute to this iconic event. This weekend is May 8-10, the original date for this year’s competition. Although it must be cancelled, the brand chose this appropriate time to release the limited edition timepiece of the same name. This watch uses the iconic red and white characteristics of the classic sports car, with its vintage clues to capture the essence of the historic game, and the game logo is engraved at 1 o’clock on the dial.
The Monaco Historical Grand Prix, which is held every two years and lasts for a week, is one of the highlights of the classic racing calendar with more than 200 Grand Prix cars representing 50 different car manufacturers. The cars themselves were selected based on their historical value and originality, and they played a total of seven series in the decades from the 1930s to the 1970s. For the last race, in 2018, drivers from more than 21 countries participated in the race. TAG Heuer ’s connection with such events can be traced back to the late 1950s, when Jack Heuer himself saw an opportunity to choose to name his fake watches for some of the most prestigious competitions of the time, thus aligning his The enthusiasm for racing is integrated with the TAG Heuer brand. Nowadays, Heuer’s connection with the racing world requires little explanation, Monaco first released it in 1969,
This watch is not a classic replica, but a modern style that pays homage to modern events celebrating the history of racing. The red and white patterns give the watch a strong masculine temperament. In some ways, the dial design incorporates the charm of Monaco in the late 1960s / early 1970s and a sense of near-decorative art. In terms of design, the watch uses classic serif style fonts to represent Monaco’s name, text and numbers. The dial has a sunburst effect, and the red color of the rounded square sub-dial forms a sharp contrast with the white on the surface of the main dial, which looks more readable. Overall, the dial seems to have equal red and white parts, and it feels fairly balanced. Its warmth is that although it is a modern watch, it can bring you the feeling of all vintage works.
The internal movement of this limited edition Monaco uses Calibre Heuer 02 movement, which is visible through the sapphire case decorated with the Monaco History Award logo. Caliber Heuer 02 has 168 independent parts, cylindrical gears and vertical clutch, which can provide 80 hours of power reserve. This special watch is equipped with buttons and crown on the right side of the case, and is equipped with a perforated leather racing strap. The bottom cover of each watch is engraved with the words “one thousandth”.
Before the release, the watch will be exhibited at the Monaco Auto Club and then launched this summer. Tag Heuer Monaco Monaco Historical Grand Prix Limited Edition may not be able to fill the three-day vacancy in this year’s racing calendar, but it will undoubtedly help.
